Bank Closure – BID actions and survey

Nairn BID is very concerned that the planned closure of the Bank of Scotland on January 20th 2026 will be a major inconvenience to our members, particularly with regard to depositing and withdrawing cash. We are doing various things to investigate and possibly come up with a solution.

When the closure was announced we conducted a short survey and have had over 150 responses to date. Roughly 75% of respondents said the closure will affect them badly or very badly. You can still give your views here: https://forms.gle/XfSpkDDnfvkxwD6F9

We are supporting Graham Leadbitter MP in his efforts to work with BoS management to change their minds, while also investigating the possibility of opening a banking hub. On the banking hub matter, we are making enquiries with others who have set up successful hubs in other towns so that we understand the process and how this might be achieved for Nairn.

We are also liaising with local press outlets to make sure that our case is heard.

We will continue to push for the businesses, organisations and people of Nairn to have satisfactory banking services available locally and encourage anyone who will be badly affected by the closure to get in touch with us as this information will help our case.
