Opt-in membership is available to businesses that either exist out-with the catchment area of Nairn BID, or whose property’s rateable value lies below the £1000 threshold, but still wish to support the BID and receive most of the benefits that members do. As Nairn BID exists for the improvement of Nairn as a whole then supporting the BID can be a valuable way of saying to your customers that you as a business are contributing to making Nairn a better place.
Opt-in members receive the same benefits as other members, they just don’t have the voting rights that levy area businesses do when it comes to the renewal ballot for the BID. For the five year business plan which outlines the main areas of spending and objectives of Nairn BID, please click here.
They can apply for free stalls at our events and markets, benefit from free marketing and promotion (website listing, social media sharing and member of the month), and attend our meetings, business workshops and networking events.
Nairn BID organises street markets along the High Street several times a year. The BID also runs Taste of Nairn, Wheels of Nairn and the Countdown to Christmas events.
If you think your business would benefit by being part of the BID and you would like to join, please fill in our application form. You can also send us a photograph and listing wording for the VisitNairn website.
Opt-in membership starts from £125 a year. Membership runs for our financial year from 1st October to 30th September. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to get in touch – office@nairnconnects.com
Ozzy’s Fine Dining really took the lockdown period in their stride, treating it as an opportunity to reflect on business, revamp the restaurant, and be active in ensuring everything exceeds standards.

Ozzy explains: “It’s important to take pride in your business, and exceed not only customer expectations, but also your own.”
The team were also hands-on in getting the restaurant ready for reopening, with the Manager helping to give the walls a bright and fresh coat of paint, and coordinating other major work such as new flooring, doors, chandelier polishing, gutter and street cleaning. With the summer season in sight, Ozzy’s will soon also be adding hanging flower baskets to their front entrance.
But it doesn’t end there. Even more action has gone on behind-the-scenes. Ozzy explains: “It’s the details that enhance the customers experience. We want to create an atmosphere where people feel comfortable, relaxed, and can forget about the world – even if just for one night.”
Special attention to even the subtlest details is clear to see throughout the restaurant, which is deep-cleaned every morning and night. One of many examples is Ozzy’s roaring fire, so that whether customers are in for a meal or just a coffee, they can stay cosy despite the chilly weather Scotland has recently had.
Every detail – from the new masks (made locally by Dianna Wild) to the beautiful new artwork on the walls (by local artist Rebecca Slack), to the new decorations dotted around the space – has been carefully considered every step of the way, and boasts the ever-important message of supporting local.

Ozzy’s always aims to support local talent and is currently looking to hire front-of-house staff. They are looking for someone that is dedicated, hard-working, and can handle the pressure of a fast-paced environment – the job opportunity can be found here. Perks of the job include training in a range of courses, most recently including Digital Marketing through the VLA which was offered via an exclusive deal to our members.
With all these reasons in mind, they have more than earned their spot as our Member of the Month for May 2021.
Ozzy’s bold and memorable brand focuses on combining classic Scottish countryside iconography, with the stylish minimalism of muted, earthy tones. The refreshed menu offers contemporary twists to many Scottish favourites, including the must-try ‘Tartan burger’ best paired with their exclusively stocked as well as own-branded wines.
However, the Kurdish cuisine is what really takes the spotlight, warmly welcoming customers to try something new on their night out. Ozzy recommends the ‘Kurdish Kuba’, a mouth-watering dish straight from his hometown that you just won’t find elsewhere in the Highlands.

In celebration of their reopening, Ozzy’s have launched a competition where you can win a three-course meal for four guests and experience the fine dining hype for yourself. The winner will be randomly selected on Tuesday 11th May 2021, so don’t miss out. Entry is free, and the details on how to enter can be found in this post – what are you waiting for?!
If you’d like a sneak peek of what Ozzy’s is all about, check out a preview of their newly-released promotional video – full cut available in the competition post.
