Bruach and Carolton Houses

July 2024

Carolton Care and Bruach House are two family run care homes located on Seabank Road in our beautiful town.

Carol and Jonathan Clark, the mother and son team spoke to us this month for our regular feature.

Carol said: “Our small, family-run care homes embody the warm, welcoming spirit of the Scottish Highlands. We pride ourselves on offering exceptional care grounded in our core family values, ensuring that every resident feels right at home.”

Founded in 2004 with the acquisition of Carolton, and later Bruach in 2008, the care homes have become a vital part of the Nairn care community. With over four decades of experience, the company’s passion and dedication to providing the highest quality of care is the cornerstone of the homes. Their vision has always been to create a safe, nurturing environment where residents are treated with the utmost respect and dignity.

Jonathan added: “At Carolton and Bruach, we are committed to making your loved one’s stay as comfortable and fulfilling as possible. Our fully trained care team is dedicated to meeting the individual needs of each resident, ensuring they receive the personalised care and attention they deserve. We are registered with the NHS and the care inspectorate, constantly striving to improve our services and uphold the highest standards of care, keeping up to date with relevant and current training and legislation. We believe that the strength of our care homes lies in our people – the compassionate, skilled team members who go above and beyond every day.”

This month, we are thrilled to shine a spotlight on their team of dedicated staff as part of our Member of the Month feature. It is their hard work and commitment that make Carolton and Bruach truly special places for their residents. All staff from both Carolton and Bruach play a vital role in the smooth running of the homes and Jonathan and Carol are keen to thank them all: housekeeping, catering, office, activities and care. The over 60 staff all play their part, and they are only as good as the people they have working for them so want to thank everyone.

The team at Carolton and Bruach are proud to be a part of the Nairn community and grateful for the trust families place in them to care for their loved ones.

Many people would not know that all of Nairn’s care homes are members of the BID, and so therefore contribute to the various schemes and projects the BID carries out on behalf of all the businesses, such as the VisitNairn website and social media, providing the hanging baskets in the summer and the Christmas Lights in the winter. The events BID provides – Taste of Nairn, Wheels of Nairn and the Countdown to Christmas, also provide a good excuse for family members to visit and maybe take relatives out for the day. The improved state of the Links and the parks thanks to BID projects to buy new benches and improve noticeboards is also appreciated.

Carolton and Bruach house are delighted to be part of the rounds that Trike Nairn does, bringing residents out on their cycle rickshaws. Trike Nairn operates from the Seaman’s Victoria Hall, which is run by Green Hive, also members of the BID community.
