Opt-in membership is available to businesses that either exist out-with the catchment area of Nairn BID, or whose property’s rateable value lies below the £1000 threshold, but still wish to support the BID and receive most of the benefits that members do. As Nairn BID exists for the improvement of Nairn as a whole then supporting the BID can be a valuable way of saying to your customers that you as a business are contributing to making Nairn a better place.
Opt-in members receive the same benefits as other members, they just don’t have the voting rights that levy area businesses do when it comes to the renewal ballot for the BID. For the five year business plan which outlines the main areas of spending and objectives of Nairn BID, please click here.
They can apply for free stalls at our events and markets, benefit from free marketing and promotion (website listing, social media sharing and member of the month), and attend our meetings, business workshops and networking events.
Nairn BID organises street markets along the High Street several times a year. The BID also runs Taste of Nairn, Wheels of Nairn and the Countdown to Christmas events.
If you think your business would benefit by being part of the BID and you would like to join, please fill in our application form. You can also send us a photograph and listing wording for the VisitNairn website.
Opt-in membership starts from £125 a year. Membership runs for our financial year from 1st October to 30th September. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to get in touch – office@nairnconnects.com
NAIRN is gearing up to host over 150 vehicles as part of a new event for the seaside town.
Wheels of Nairn will take place at the Links on September 21 and Nairn BID who have organised the event have been thrilled with the response.
The one-day celebration of classic and modern vehicles will showcase a medley of cars and motorbikes owned by enthusiasts from across the region.
Janis Maclean, Nairn BID manager said she hopes the event will become a regular feature on the Nairn calendar of events: “We are thrilled to be putting on Wheels of Nairn for the first time and have been inundated with entries. When we first planned the event, we hoped to attract 100 vehicles, but at the moment we have over 150 registered, so let’s keep our fingers crossed for a good sunny day, so that the vehicles can be shown off in the sunshine. One of the highlights will be the drive-off at 3pm where all the vehicles will form a convoy and drive from the Links, up the High Street and safely on their way home. It would be fabulous if the streets were lined with spectators to see them off.”
She added: “One of Nairn BID’s remits is to create events that will benefit and drive footfall to the town and we are hopeful that with all these vehicles we will achieve just that. As well as the exhibitors we have around 20 stallholders, food outlets and of course we will be encouraging visitors to wander around our town as well. We really hope that people will visit Nairn and spend the day here and enjoy all that it has to offer. It will be a great day out for all.”
The event is being supported by Nairn Rotary Club who have provided volunteers to help ensure the day goes smoothly.
“I cannot thank Nairn Rotary enough,” said Janis, “they are helping with the vehicle registration, set up and marshalling on the day. Nairn has a fabulous community and without this type of support, it would be tricky to stage these types of events.”
Title sponsor for the event is Hangar96 which provides prestige classic car and motorcycle storage in the region.
Nairn BID recently launched its event calendar for the next six months which includes a series of events including the Christmas Lights Switch-on and the return of Taste of Nairn, a three-day food and drink festival.
